Job DescriptionAccountantDuties/Responsibilities:Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivableProduce accurate accounting reports and present their resultsPrepare financial statements and produce budget according to scheduleSupport month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processDevelop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controlsEnsure compliance with GAAP principlesMaintain financial records and reports related to general ledger accounts in an organized mannerReconcile bank accounts, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks if anyReconcile, review, and analyze general ledger accounts for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closingsMaintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules for multiple company entitiesPrepare and maintain ad-hoc financial reports requested by Controller and senior management in a clear and concise mannerProvide Controller and external CPA with necessary account information, financial records, and documents needed to perform quarterly and annual financial reviewsMaintain knowledge of accounting practices and proceduresPerform other related duties as assignedRequired Skills/Abilities:Excellent verbal and written Communication skillsThorough knowledge of basic accounting proceduresIn-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Knowledge of general financial accountingExperience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close processHands-on experience with accounting software packages, like QuickBooksAdvanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tablesAccuracy and attention to detail and aptitude for numbers and quantitative skillsExperience and Education:Minimum 3 to 5 years accounting experienceAA or BA degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant work experienceExperience working for small businesses
