Overview

LMI seeks an experienced Real Estate Assistant key to providing support of a federal facilities and infrastructure portfolio management program. Join our team of collaborative self-starters focused on delivering practical and efficient solutions to help our U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) client keep our nation safe while supporting the facilitation of legitimate trade and travel.

Responsibilities

  • Support client's real estate documentation, leasing, licensing, and agreement programs
  • Organize and manage leases, Memoranda of Agreement/Understanding (MOA/MOU), Interagency Acquisition Agreements (IAA) and related documentation for client facilities in both digital and paper formats
  • Assist in real estate clearance activities, including title searches, review of land surveys, and ownership verification
  • Maintain leasing and related real estate documents in a monthly report
  • Coordinate with Leasing Specialists across the federal government on behalf of clients related to lease agreements, direct lease agreements, MOU/MOA, IAA, and other relevant documents to ensure the documentation is loaded in the systems of record
  • Assist in entry and quality control of all leasing information loaded into DHS database
  • Assist in the coordination of Consumer Price Index (CPI) increases, change of ownership, and rent escalations
  • Assist in real estate transaction coordination and tracking, to include ensuring leases and other real estate agreements are closed out properly in the client tracking system

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
  • Real estate (commercial or residential) background required
  • Previous work with government (DHS, GSA, etc.) facilities programs or real estate portfolios preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to pass a government background investigation, including financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, prohibited substance abuse, and employment verifications; active U.S. Customs and Border Protection background investigation (CBP BI) required. Individuals with existing CBP BI preferred. Please note that only U.S. citizens are eligible for a suitability determination.
