Job DescriptionSalary: ABOUT USThe Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA) represents the 27,000+ Flight Attendants of American Airlines, an airline that consists of aviation professionals with a diverse history brought together from multiple airlines. From APFA's inception in 1977, the Union has fiercely advocated for the Flight Attendant profession. It has been at the forefront of the fight for workplace equality, legislative affairs, women's, and human rights.ABOUT THIS POSITIONThe PowerBI/Business Intelligence Specialist will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining dashboards and report visualizations in the Power BI Service. The candidate will work closely with National Officers and Representatives to understand broad business information requirements, develop solutions to meet those requirements, and execute the design in order to meet business needs.Responsibilities

• Ability to create visualizations and drill down scenarios through analysis of the data to show users new ways to view the data without detailed requirements given
• Provide expert consulting on the best way to represent data to get data insights
• Understand business requirements in the BI context and design data models to convert raw data to meaningful insights
• Identify KPIs with clear objectives and monitor them consistently
• Utilize best practices to design, develop, and support Power BI visualizations
• Publish reports and dashboards using Power BI Service for sharing and collaboration
• Be able to aggregate data for visualization and combine data from several sources including UnionWare, Quickbooks, Excel Spreadsheets, etc.
• Work on different metrics and calculations using Power BI functions
• Design, develop, test, and deploy Power BI scripts and perform detailed analytics
• Chart creation and data documentation explaining algorithms, parameters, models, and relations
• SQL querying for best results, use of filters and graphs for better understanding of data
• Schedule dashboard refreshes and sets up proactive notifications
• Work with users and representatives at all levels for performance improvement and suggestionRequirements
  • 2+ years in Power BI dashboard and report visualization development
  • Ability to collaborate and work with a team to analyze, design, develop, deploy, and support Power BI dashboards and reports that meet business and technical requirements
  • Ability to prevent and support resolution of data quality issues
  • Able to integrate Power BI reports into other applications using embedded analytics like Power BI service
  • Experience with Power BI governance and security
  • Expertise in DAX languages
  • Expertise in Power Query
  • Expertise in publishing reports and dashboards using Power BI Service
  • Power BI administration of capacity settings and audit logs
  • Power BI administration of workspaces, tenant settings, data sources, etc...

    • Ability to educate report requestors, National Officers, and leadership on Power BI capabilities and best practices
