Job Description Position Description The collision estimator
performs damage analysis and uses computerized estimating system(s)
to develop repair plans and cost of repairs. Managing Production
team and inventory to meet quality, control cost and cycle times.
Essential Duties The essential duties of this position are: --
Identify all primary and secondary damage to the vehicle --
Identifies parts to be repositioned, removed and reinstalled,
removed and replaced, or and repaired -- Uses computerized
estimating system (CCC1) and AllData to develop repair plan and
cost of repairs -- Selects part type that is appropriate for the
vehicle, customer, and the shop -- Ensures compliance with internal
and insurance company estimating rules -- Completes and submits
cost of repairs and supplements to insurance companies -- Schedules
vehicle repairs to ensure balanced workload in the shop -- Uses
phone and email to follow-up with all potential customers to
schedule repairs -- Upsells additional repairs and services offered
-- Maintains an average closing percentage of 60% of estimates --
Ensures that parts and paint and material margins are obtained --
Ensures that the business gross profit dollars and margins are
obtained -- Keep work area clean and organized -- Follow and comply
with all standard operating procedures -- Assist in developing or
refining standard operating procedures as required -- Maintains
acceptable appearance -- Complies with and follows all scheduled
work hours and attendance policies -- Complies with the business
code of conduct and other policies -- Understand and carry out oral
and written directions -- Maintain aged receivables are paid on
time and work to collector overdue payments. -- Parts procurement
and returns Knowledge and Skills The following knowledge and skills
are required for this position: -- Knowledgeable of vehicle
construction methods and required repair procedures --
Knowledgeable of vehicle construction materials and required repair
procedures -- Skilled in closing sales -- Skilled in communicating
with customers, vendors, suppliers, and insurers -- Skilled in
using computerized estimating systems -- Skilled in basic computer
data-entry, Microsoft office and internet-based applications
Training and Certifications The following are suggested training
and experience requirements for this position: -- 2 --- 5 years
estimator and/or body shop experience -- CCC1 estimating software
-- Valid driver---s license -- Certificate or degree in automotive
collision repair -- I-CAR Professional Development Program Level 1
or higher -- Specified Maaco training required to be completed
within 14 days of employment. (sent to you after offer letter has
been signed) -- ATI initial training and on-going training required
as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities Work with Painter(s) and
Body Tech(s) to manage Production Working Conditions The working
conditions for this position include: -- Work both inside and
outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. --
Exposure to temperature changes, noise, fumes and mechanical,
chemical, or electrical hazards. -- Work environment involves some
exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following
basic safety precautions. -- May be requested to work overtime and
weekends. Physical Demands This position has the following physical
demands: -- Oral communication -- Ability to continuously stand or
walk for extended periods of time -- Must have good body mechanics
and manual dexterity. -- The employee may lift and/or move up to 75
pounds or more. -- Specific vision abilities required by this job
include close vision, distance vision, color vision, The physical
