OverviewTexas Oncology is looking for a Regional Travel Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team!This position will rotate across all Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, and Infusion departments supporting clinics throughout the Northeast, Texas Region (sites include: Frisco, Frisco West, Allen, McKinney South, McKinney North, Plano West, Garland, Rowlett, Castle Hills Lewisville, Flower Mound, Denton, Denison, and Greenville).This is a full-time Monday - Friday 8:30am-5pm position with no weekends, call, or major holidays.This position can be a level 1, 2, or Sr based on candidate experience.Texas Oncology is the largest community oncology provider in the country and has approximately 600+ providers in 280+ sites across Texas and southeastern Oklahoma. Must recognize physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of care and participates in company-wide quality initiatives. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.ResponsibilitiesThe essential duties and responsibilities:

• Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
  • Assesses health status by interviewing patient regarding current status and medical history.
  • Assesses patient/family needs and provides teaching and other instructional material.
  • Provides psychosocial support to patients and families.
  • Prepares and administers therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician.
    • Administers all medications/blood products using correct medication/blood product, dosage/amount, route, time and technique.
    • Facilitates dose modification by assessing patient, assessing labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems and symptom management.
    • Performs venipuncture, accesses implanted ports and maintains central lines catheter devices.
    • Facilitates clinical operations and patient care.
      • Manages patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and records the information in the patient chart.
      • Triages patient phone calls as needed and documents relevant information in the patient's chart.
      • Assist patients in locating available community resources.
      • Will adhere to Nursing Float Pool playbook for specific role and job requestion.QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:Level 1:
        • Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
        • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
        • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
        • Entry-level position requiring zero (0) years of nursing experience.
        • Oncology experience strongly preferred.
        • OCN certification preferred. Level 2 (in addition to level 1 requirements):
          • Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology preferred.Level Sr (in addition to level 1 and 2 requirements):
            • Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology preferred.Working Conditions:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
